Cardiff International Pool
The International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay is a new development incorporating a swimming complex, a snow centre, ice arena, supermarket, retail, restaurants, bars and 1,000 apartments. The swimming complex consists of an Olympic standard 50m pool with 10 2.5m-wide lanes, seating for 1,000 spectators, and an indoor waterpark which incorporates a four lane, 25m warm up pool. The indoor waterpark features flume rides, a beach area with slides, a lazy river and whirlpool.
Neuman Aqua was responsible for the design, supply and installation of three body slides and a space bowl and the associated ride supports. A part of Neuman Aqua’s design brief was to allow for a second phase ride such as a Master Blaster and accordingly the current design reflects this future option, with a recognized and assigned future slide path.
